...self-contained. Is it easier to hide than to explain?

I've been having so much fun with the color scheme and hairstyle of the girl from Ionic, that I decided to start a series of images of her. I guess that would kind of make her a character of mine? I don't have a story for her, but I do want to flesh out her personality a little.

This one started as a doodle on lined notepaper, and then I colored it in Opencanvas and refined it a bit in Painter7. I also have a wallpaper version of it that I can upload if anyone is interested. And, for once, despite my angry computer, I worked at a large enough resolution for printing.

*edit* I uploaded the wrong version the first time. This one is cropped and sized properly, but the edits aren't showing in the thumbnail.

Wow thats an awesome concept for the hair.
Has a very captive feel to it, like she is stuck inside looking out.
The color scheme is nice. Seems all i use lately is a similar color scheme, but maybe thats because of the type of stuff ive been drawing :P (Lick) .

I like alot of the work you do, but i rarely comment because by the time i see your work it is already loaded with comments and it seems pointless to make another "great work!" comment.
Its late right now though, and you just submitted this, so I thought perhaps now was time to show my appreciation. Your a great artist, and a wonderful inspiration. Keep it up!

Honestly awsome! I really l;ove your work, wish I could do what you do!

Personally I feel that being self-contained is good at the right time, but it can work against you because if everything is contained, kept hidden, an explosion is to be expected eventually.

It's very good indeed, but again you where a bit sloppy with the background. You really should put more time in BG's, they really add a lot to a piece. Other than that, nice work, as usual.
