Artist's Comments
Don't make me use this.
This is based on the main character from the video game American McGee's Alice. The bloody knife and pinafore, costume and necklace are the features of the character from the game. The general pose and angle are from a webcam shot that I took of a friend of mine. She was dressed as Alice for Halloween, complete with rubber knife. I made up the head, though, since she was looking to the side in the photo. I wanted to give it a less realistic, game-y look. And I thought it would be more logical to have her looking forward at whatever she's threatening to attack. Drawn freehand in Painter7, and then the bloody parts were added with spatter brushes in photoshop. I made this in February for the last Raster chapter. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. I'm at work now... but suffice to say I love this. The monitor on this sucks... I'll have a look again on my laptop with it's lovely LCD screen. I'll comment in depth then.
